JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a visionary Corporate Communications Director to oversee all aspects of internal and external communications. This role will ensure a consistent and coherent voice across all business units and channels, effectively articulating Unicorns, Inc.’s brand and strategic priorities to internal and external stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned communication leader who excels in creating unified messaging frameworks, fostering collaboration across diverse teams, and driving impactful storytelling that aligns with corporate objectives.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication Strategy and Alignment

  • Develop and implement a corporate communications strategy that unifies messaging across all business units and aligns with company goals.
  • Ensure a cohesive brand voice in internal communications, external media, and digital platforms.

Internal Communications

  • Partner with leadership and HR teams to develop internal communication initiatives that inspire, inform, and engage employees.
  • Support change management efforts with clear and consistent messaging.

External Communications and Media Relations

  • Oversee media relations, including drafting press releases, preparing spokespeople, and managing relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Lead public relations efforts to enhance brand visibility and reputation.

Executive Communications

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to craft speeches, presentations, and thought leadership content.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on messaging and positioning for leadership.

Crisis Communication

  • Develop and manage crisis communication plans, ensuring readiness to respond effectively to potential reputational risks.
  • Act as a key spokesperson when necessary.

Digital and Social Media Oversight

  • Lead content strategy for corporate social media platforms and the company’s website, ensuring alignment with the overall communication strategy.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of digital campaigns, making data-driven improvements.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing communications team.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure integrated communication efforts.
 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in creating and executing communication strategies at a senior level.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Expertise in media relations, crisis management, and executive communication.
  • Ability to unify diverse teams under a cohesive messaging framework.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on experience in communication tools and platforms.
